AMERICAN RADICAL a new one-person play by Stephen Rosenfield and Kate Redway is scheduled to have a reading on May 17th @ 4pm at the Snapple Theatre Center, 1627 Broadway 4th Floor. This will be FREE to all those who attend.

Contact the American Comedy Institute by phone 212-279-6980 or email info@comedyinstitute.com . Give us your name, name of school, phone number and email address, and indicate that you will be participating in the competition.

The competition will be held on Friday April 30th and May 1st at 8pm in The Martini Room at Hobart Hall on the campus of William Paterson University. For directions go to http://www.wpunj.edu/. Tickets are $10 for students with student I.D.s and $15 for the general public.
1. The schedule for the competition is as follows the Semi-finals are on Friday, April 30th @ 8pm and the Finals are on Saturday, May 1st @ 8pm.
2. You need to have about 5 minutes of original stand- up comedy material.
3. Material needs to be relatively clean. We do not want sexually graphic material. We want material that could be aired on television.
4. As there will be different judges for the Semi- finals on Friday and the Finals on Saturday you can if you wish use the same material for both nights or, if you wish you can make adjustments to your material in the event you make it into the Finals.
5. The event is held at Hobart Hall on the William Paterson campus located in Wayne, New Jersey. For directions go to http://www.wpunj.edu/
6. The show is on April 30th and May 1st at 8PM. The stand- ups need to arrive at 6:30PM for a rehearsal before the show.
7. You must bring a student I.D. to participate.
8. There is no fee to participate.
9. Your act will be judged by a panel of comedians. The students and colleges with the highest point scores in the semi- finals on Friday will perform in the finals on Saturday.
10. The competition winners will receive a trophy and a spot in the American Comedy Institute Show at Gotham Comedy Club in New York.
11. The Festival is open to the public and we encourage you to bring friends and family to the show to cheer you on.
12. Tickets are $10 for students with student I.D.s and $15 for the general public.
This will enroll you in the competition. About a week prior to the competition the American Comedy Institute will contact you to remind you about the show.
