"Stephen Rosenfield's compassion and ability helped to shape a young angry jackass with no future into a young angry jackass getting free dinners, to a young angry jackass on the road, to a young angry jackass killing at clubs in Hollywood. Sam Brown is writing screenplays for New Line Cinema and for Mark Johnson at Intermedia Films, producer of RAINMAN. He performs stand - up in all the clubs in LA and is about to go into production for his one person show, Healing The Jackass Within. The Stand-Up Workshop is taught by award-winning, comedy director and writer Stephen RosenfieldThe workshop is conducted so that when it's time for your club appearance you will have solidly written, funny material and you will be well rehearsed and ready to perform at your peak and beyond. Five-Day IntensiveFor students who live outside the metropolitan New York area, The Stand-Up Comedy Workshop is offered as a five-day intensive workshop each month. Classes and private writing sessions with Stephen Rosenfield, and your club appearance are all scheduled within five days. Contact us and we'll help you set it up. Stephen Rosenfield will help you write your comedy material in private writing sessions. In the group classes he will guide your performance. His ability to bring out each performer's own, individual comic voice is a reason that his students are performing in every club in N.Y. and L.A., across the country and around the world. The workshop is conducted every month of the year except August. Each workshop meets eight times over the course of three and a half weeks. Four of the meetings are classes. They are scheduled on weekday evenings. They begin at 6:00 and end by 8:30. Two of the meetings are private writing sessions with Stephen Rosenfield. Following your four classes and two private writing sessions is the seventh meeting - your performance at the club. The eighth meeting is a screening during which you and your fellow performers will see your show on video. The eighth session concludes with a discussion on how to pursue a professional career in comedy - how to start performing in the comedy circuit, how to get booked in comedy clubs, and how to get agents and managers. You don't need to have written or performed before. All you need is a pencil and your sense of humor. Once you have completed your first workshop you can return on an on-going basis at a reduced fee. Veteran performers use the workshop as a place to create new comedy material and to strengthen their skills as performers. A Bridge To The World of Professional Comedy
