American Comedy Institute
One-Year Professional Comedy Program
Application for Admission
To Apply:
1. Print and fill out this application form for admission to the One Year Program.
2. Write a one to two page letter detailing your background and explaining why you wish to enroll in the One Year Program.
3. Schedule an interview and audition by calling 212-279-6980. Applicants should prepare a comic or dramatic monologue from a play or film, and approximately two minutes of their own original comedy material.
Applicants who have written scripts may submit ten pages of their work along with their application, but an excerpt of a script is not a requirement of admission.
If circumstances prohibit a live audition, applicants may submit the monologue and stand-up material on video tape (VHS format), and arrange for an interview over the phone.
If you are planning to submit separate materials (script excerpts, video tapes, etc.), please include these with your application, but do not send originals because scripts and tapes will not be returned.
4. There is a non-refundable application fee of $65.00. If you are paying by check, please make check payable to American Comedy Institute.
